ALERT! Fake Facebook Profile of malicious intent

In recent months, a FAKE PROFILE of malicious intent has emerged on Facebook. Initially, the FAKE PROFILE was named after an actual Carnalismo Brown Beret, while displaying a photo of another real person. The profile picture of this real person is a “veterano” Brown Beret, who continues his work in El Paso, Texas as an activist. His work has been written about and published.

Please note; the two "top friends of this FAKE PROFILE

The profile picture is from an actual published article in the El Paso Times, and other numerous web and print publications, and is accredited to Raymundo Aguirre from Borderzine.

It has been observed that this FAKE PROFILE has been amassing Facebook friends, and posting bizarre diatribes about Donald Trump, etc. It is obvious that the originators of this fake profile have duplicitous, malicious intentions toward the Carnalismo Brown Berets, as well as other activists.

It is also worth noting that when the profile had initially launched, the two “top friends” are both members of the BBNO, in El Paso. This could actually indicate that one of those two Facebook “friends” actually launched the profile themselves in an attempt to cause disruption and confusion amidst the Brown Beret Community, and other activists/organizations.

We caution anyone who has been swindled into being “Facebook friends” with this profile, as it is NOT real, and obviously has pointed agendas and bad intentions. It is very sad that the individual who launched this fake profile in an obvious attack on the Carnalismo Brown Berets actually used the picture of a legitimate, humble activist who himself may NOT even be aware that his likeness is being used by malicious persons.

We would provide a link to the fake profile, except that it now appears the individual who launched this fake profile has either removed the fake profile, or changed it’s privacy settings such that it is not “searchable” on Facebook.

There once was a time…

There once was a time, when Brown Berets didn’t distincly “beef” with one-another. There once was a time when the stakes were higher, in terms of the adversities and atrocities we fought.

There once was a time, when the “Chisme” element never took hold, never took shape of “El Movimiento.” There was a time when such “Chisme” operators didn’t slip through the cracks.

Many activist groups, of any stripe, or any cause find themselves at some juncture faced with the task of dealing with in-fighting, or worse yet, ego-slamming personalities who through their own “Chisme” personal agendas instigate and perpetuate the in-fighting. The following pictures show an historical march against Police Brutality which took place en Tejas, in the early 70’s. Nothing new there; Brown Berets have been addressing this issue for over half a century.

What might seem new, which is actually really old, is how our brothers and sisters banded together once – regardless of patch, because the stakes were that high. What is also depicted in the pictures are a very rare, and little known representation of the “La Causa” patch, NOT seen in yellow and brown, but red and black, with a striking semblance to the colors of the Carnalismo Brown Beret Flash.

These are things that cannot be made up, nor falsified – nor can they be diluted by anyone slinging a “Chisme” motive. These are the things that were done during the old times, of the Brown Berets.

These things are very real, the genuine article. And there are periodicals of note to back this up.

Causa Unidos Brown Berets continue to deal with BBNO unrest

The Causa Unidos Brown Berets have had to continually deal with the rapacious BBNO, and their actively offensive motives to undermine activists en Tejas

The Causa Unidos Brown Berets have had to continually deal with the rapacious BBNO, and their actively offensive motives to undermine activists en Tejas

The BBNO, in its’ newest incarnation (a post Jon Burns era) have again resurfaced, with obvious ambitions toward rapacious grab ups for BOTH recruitment and expansion. Their eminent self implosion surfaced itself in the Autumn of 2011. They enjoyed a really big hype around 2010, when their “leader” appointed Jon Burns (A.K.A. Juanito, A.K.A El Gitano) to their second in Command. His title was then Chief of Staff, and there exist screen shots of BBNO proudly hailing this. But not only was Jon Burns ousted as a sexual miscreant, (who continually calls out hits on people) but he also tainted that 2010 incarnation of the “La Causa” patch.

For those who don’t know, YES, many Brown Berets wear different patches, and YES, there does unfortunately exist some dispute on the validity of such patches.

However, one thing that can NEVER be disputed is that the Carnalismo patch has never been rife with disruption nor dispute. Carnalismo Brown Berets are far more in keeping with some tenets of the old school, “veterano” Brown Berets, in that we DON’T operate from a place of imposing our will, and that we instead operate from a sense of understanding – in fact, that is what “Carnalismo” means in the first place.

Since we don’t subordinate our fellow Chicanos with egotistical tyranny, it ALSO means that we work closely and strongly and continually with our affiliate patches – those who have humbly organized alongside us.

Such is the case, with the Causa Unidos Brown Berets from El Paso, Texas. Their initiatives, and their works are so much in alignment with us, that in many respects, they are a part of our whole. When they deal with adversity, we sense and feel it.

Since, however (or leading up to) the burial of Reies Lopez Tijerina (a Texan who for Land Grant rights en Nuevo Mexico), we have again seen an uproarious resurgence stemmed from people who lust to own a cause to which they have exhibit unethical ambitions.  With regard to Tijerina, we  WATCHED as so many greedy agencies and institutions made the passing of this defiant Tejano’s death a part of their own causes – how they were exploitative in their nature to gather own ness over the death of this man who in his life stood for justice.

And though Sr. Tijerina had converted himself to another religion for long years passed, we also saw how many people tried to step into his legacy – and to grandstand their own motives for their own perceived ill gotten gains.

Honestly, it was a sick, disgusting affair, to see so many destitute (or despot) organizations squeeze themselves in, for a chance to speak blank words into a microphone, into a camera, or onto the news. It could even be argued that such organizations, such as the BBNO, La Fey, etc. actually garnered more money or more followers for their duplicitous outcries – their false gritos.

As a NATIVE Nuevo Mexicano, whose Abuela was from Del Rio, Texas,  I felt insult coursing in my veins. Much of the embodiment of Tijerina’s work existed in my back yard, a long time ago. In his latter years, Tijerina moved back to his native Tejas, and settled into a humble life – while he was still alive, few people knew him, nor cared much about where he ended up.

But the Causa Unidos Brown Berets DID! They could tell you what his favorite food was shortly before he passed away. They could tell you where he sought solace, in contrast to  a lot of grandiose organizations who so hungrily salivated over owning his legacy. Few people would know his humble road as he sadly departed us all. But the Causa Unidos Brown Berets were there when few paid attention to him.

This “ambulance chasing” attorney out of El Paso has been hastily “promoted,” and emboldened by Jeronimo Blanco, to lead and direct the new incarnate of the BBNO. The hasty “promotions” are reminiscent of the 2010 BBNO, when Burns had been endowed as second in command. Burns only lasted a little over a year.  What credibility lies with a man who barely became a Brown Beret when he was middle-aged, and why he is given so much credence?

The current incarnate of the BBNO have distinctly sought to be rapacious, and to have ownership of the Brown Beret persona. Their enthusiasm shows, since they copyrighted the “La Causa” patch. And for all the flagrantly reckless statements they make on their website, it is VERY ironic that the BBNO used the same gabacho laws they claim to be against in order to copyright the “La Causa” patch – a patch and symbol that has been in use before any of their existent leadership became Brown Berets. None of the “men” who poise themselves as leaders are even originators of the “La Causa” patch. Still, they continually “troll” on facebook, to deceive the public. They flagrantly disrespect other Brown Berets, of other patches, and they try to harass other Brown Berets with “legaleaze,” and false cease and desist threats.

This is the precipice of the problem, as it exists for Chicano activists today; the ego-stroking characters, conjuring fake adversaries, spreading libel, slander, and harassment, and implementing deception to cause unrest and disruption.

To those poor saps who joined the BBNO, drank the koolaide, bought those silly khakis, the canteen belt y todo; Carnalismo feels sorry for you. We have no ambitions to recruit “puppies”, who subject themselves to be lead on a leash. We are comprised ONLY of leaders, NOT followers. And we only encourage independent thought. We challenge one another, and we UNDERSTAND one another. This is why we hold strong – BOTH with our chapters, and our affiliates.

We keep our Movida clean from trolls, never-do-wells, sex offenders, and ego-stroking sycophants. That is what we have always done, and that is what we continually do. And most importantly, we do it from a place of CARNALISMO; compassion, understanding, carino, and shared conciseness – actions which cannot be written in words…

How the BBNO demonstrates thier misconduct

This is a video on how the current incarnate of the BBNO conducted themselves at the Cesar Chavez festivities in El Paso, Texas – in 2015. Unfortunately, the video doesn’t show some of the subsequent, unabashed things they published on facebook, misportraying what happened. But the issue is continual, as such elements operating under a Brown Beret persona continue to harass, threaten and bully the very same people they claim to “defend” from an ethnic standpoint. Either way, their conduct was rude, arrogant, and inflammatory – and they rhetoric and continual slander and libel toward other individuals stands to misportray ALL Brown Berets, and activists who have sought to solidify equal rights for the sake of the greater good. Their divisive demeanor is demonstrably shown here.

Continually have to deal with bad people…

En El Movimiento, we are riddled and rife with so many ppl hung up on their own self aggrandizement – we continually have to address this susceptibility, and permeability in order to keep things honest. There is, however a certain phenomena where distinct bad actors continually try to amass own-ness or ownership of the Brown Beret persona. There are individuals who have distinctly sought to copywrite or trademark what we do. They thirst to own it. They are so hungry to own it, they are willing to pay the fees, and take the gabacho route to have “own-ness” over a cause, in an effort to own the Brown Beret persona. LETS BE CLEAR – ANYONE MAKING CLAIMS TO THIS, VIA THE GABACHO GOVERNMENT ARE STILL THEMSELVES FEEDING THE SAME MACHINATIONS THE BROWN BERETS HAVE HISTORICALLY SOUGHT TO CHALLENGE. In other words, your legitimacy continually envelopes toward your ILL-ligitimacy, and I for one am sorry that you squandered such expense to file through the gabacho system, compromise your physical addresses in doing so, and continuing to harass other Brown Berets. We will NOT allow “bad actors” en el movimiento – it simply won’t occur.

Ferguson Verdict gives me the needle farts

After only perusing a few posts, I see many saying they’re NOT surprised of the Grand Jury Verdict today – over officer shit sh*t stick being acquitted of gunning down Michael Brown. It’s not enough to say that I wasn’t surprised. I am very much a “worst-case-scenario” kind of guy. Many might argue that I’m a pessimist – still many others would argue that I’m an analytical thinker. Day-to-day situations frustrate me, while I can be cool as a cucumber during crisis type situations.

But I am actually, honestly surprised. Anyone who knows anything about our justice system knows that it is not – nor has it ever been blind in any instance where it inconvenienced the prevailing “old world” powers.

Justice, as put forth by the philosophical Romans was beset on seeking “moral” argument of right and wrong – but since it’s inception, it was still engineered for nuances; “this is allowed here, but not there. We will be judged by peers, but not those peers – not the obvious ones, or the ones most afflicted or affected by the factors of the case.

Yes, Law gives me a huge case of the needlefarts. I mean “needlefart” metaphorically, but it sort of means, something meant to relieve ones self which ends up causing a great deal of pain. Such is the case with the Ferguson ordeal. Fact of the matter is this: Too many cops are shooting too many civillians indiscriminately and getting off scott-free for it.

The police are enjoying a vindictive privilege we civilians are NEVER afforded – and worse yet, we PAY them! Our taxes pay them.

Even if we could find a way that our taxes no longer fund them, the GOP would hire private police. So what is there to do?

Video: APD Shoot Homeless man in Sandia Mtns

James Boyd, a 38-year-old homeless man with mental illness issues, was shot by the Albuquerque PD on Sunday, March 16 2014 after he became engaged in an hours-long standoff with officers who caught him illegally camping in the Sandia foothills.

APD released video footage taken from the helmetcam of an officer on the scene of the crime that depicts a cop opening fire on Boyd while his back was turned to the police. The clip has since been widely circulated online and the Carnalismo Brown Berets have also circulated the clip.

In the video, Boyd tells the police, “Don’t change up the agreement, I’m going to try to walk with you.” As he reaches for his belongings, however, an officer says “Do it” and a flash-bang device is fired at the suspect while a law enforcement dog is let loose. Boyd

remains standing a few yards from the police seemingly unaffected by the blast, but moments later, the police say, he reached for something that they believed to be a knife, prompting Officers Dominque Perez and Keith Sandy to fire a total of six shots into the man.

APD have been known to make this excuse up before, and even shot a young man dead while he was holding a plastic spork. Unfortunately the was no video of that incident.

As Boyd laid motionless on a rock with his face in a pool of blood, the police continued to bark orders at him before firing further rounds of non-lethal ammunition.

After APD released the video, New Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden said that the video showed that the shooting is justified.

With regards to this month’s incident, Chief Eden said Boyd posed a
“direct threat” to his officers and cited Garner v. Tennessee, a Supreme
Court of the United States decision that found that the police can use
deadly force in certain circumstances.

Albuquerque police have shot more people than the New York Police Department since 2010, despite being one-sixteenth the size, and have been the subject of a Department of
Justice federal probe when the APD’s fatal shooting record was called
into question.

The new tone of racism

Screencap of a facebook conversation that turned racial real quick.

Screencap of a facebook conversation that turned racial real quick

This Facebook image encapsulates the new tone of white supremacy in this country. This belief seems to be an underlying one which is held by a lot of Anglo people: that everything in this country was rightfully taken because the white Europeans prevailed by conquering over all the others. I’m sure this young white guy doesn’t consider himself to be a racist. In fact, he’s probably one of those people who says “I’m not racist! I have black friends.”

However if his underlying belief is that his race “kicked the asses” of the others, and therefore was righteous in creating the climate of colonization that many minorities grapple with today, then without question he is still just a racist.
I have continually encountered this mindset with many a white person. Many of them outwardly nice, easy going people who would consider themselves friendly, considerate, decent people.
But I have arrived at the understanding with most (if not every) white people I’ve come into better acquaintance with hold this underlying belief.

And how could they not? In public school, the histories they teach say very little about what the Europeans did on this continent. They touch briefly on it, but not in any way that might make the white kids too icky. Furthermore, white culture is represented in every facet of American life, and is in fact the vision of seeing everyone become “Americanized.” Their concept of this seem to limit the inclusion of other heritages, ethnicities and cultures while bolstering one culture, one way of doing things. One belief system, etc.

Cleansing “El Movimiento”

Recently, many people may have noticed that Carnalismo Brown Berets and others have been actively engaged in “truth campaigns,” or efforts at revealing and exposing unjust actions of individuals claiming a Brown Beret persona, while not engaged in any ethical practices as Brown Berets. As could be expected, these measures can be met with hostility, retaliation, threats, and even passive admonishment from fellow soldados y soldadas who might want to keep what they see as the peace. There are some who have raised concerns about public perception of Brown Berets, and what may be perceived to outsiders as in fighting.

This entry is meant to squash that. First of all these efforts toward truth are quite the opposite. Let’s not downplay the public. They’re not that stupid. While they may not distinguish from patches, and may only “see the beret,” they can certainly see there is a degree of unrest going on. One thing the public should see is that this effort is righteous. This is Brown Berets basically auditing internally, and ensuring the sanctity of the Brown Beret role en El Movimiento. This is precisely about accountability, responsibility, and protecting the public from corrupt, morally bankrupt, individuals trying to amass perceived power under themselves. The truth campaigns have been meant to illuminate how some bad actors have sought to take hold of the Brown Beret persona and use it for self aggrandizement – or even demand that others swear allegiance to them, as if they hold sole claim to El Movimiento.

We have illuminated myriad of other instances where such individuals have tried to create permutations of a legitimate Brown Beret group, thereby miscridentialing themselves to others, and misleading them. Some people learn over time, but there is little time to waste these days, as we see hostility toward Chicanos surfacing more and more in Aztlan. This is why we’ve sought to put the truth out on matters. So those with two brain cells to rub together can distinguish truth from lies, ethical people and bad actors.

When we’re talking about truth, we’re not referring to slander or false claims not backed by any evidence whatsoever. That’s what the adversarial men we are referring to are steeping to. In fact, one of our members has been basically called a crack smoking, Nazi-cop, who lets women beat up on him who he later calls the cops on. Ridiculous, isn’t it? Because of the degree of slander, libel and threats, we must continue on in this path to truth, for in this path, we have encountered many, many others who share the exact same sentiments, and who also provide truth and testimony of their own. We’re at the point in fact where this has grown beyond the scope we first envisioned, and that others have taken to task exposing truth as well. We have no control of what might be put out there in the future. What we can assure others in the truths we put out is that they are REAL, documented evidence; emails, messages, audio, video, etc. we can also assure everyone that these pieces of evidence are being compiled and archived, put into dossiers (jackets) involving every bad actor, and every individual who swears their allegiance to, aligns themselves with, or acts on behalf of these bad actors.

We are at the helm of a drive to cleanse El Movimiento, to reinstall ethics into El Movimiento, and to ensure that individuals are better vetted before EVER being brought into the fold as Brown Berets. We only need “Brown Beret calibre” individuals, not ne’er do wells, who have staked out their egos en El Movimiento.
